Description
Full text: Emergency cooling system (ECS) ensures operation of auxiliary cooling pumps on a failure of main coolant supply in Dhruva reactor. ECS removes decay heat from the core. The finite impulse testing (FIT) of emergency cooling system (ECS) is a system to check the healthiness of ECS. The functions of FIT are to force finite impulse on certain combination of inputs on the ECS channel and check its predicted output; declare fault if any, and specify the fault. The testing has to be done without causing an actual ECS
