Fabrication of pressure vessels for nuclear power plants
Description
The status of the technology used in the fabrication of pressure vessel for nuclear power plants and the performance of the Brazilian industry in this area are presented. The followng aspects are discussed: qualification of the industries for the supplying equipment in its requirement categories; the calculation of the components; the choice of the materials; the fabrication process; and, the destructive and nondestructive tests associated to the fabrication. Apresenta-se o atual 'status' de de tecnologia empregado na fabricacao de vasos de pressao para centrais nucleares e a atuacao da industria nacional nesta area. Discute-se principalmente os seguintes aspectos: qualificacao de industrias para fornecimento de equipamentos nas suas varias categorias de exigencia; calculo dos componentes; escolha de materiais; processos de fabricacao; e, programa de ensaios destrutivos e nao destrutivos associados a fabricacao.
