Description
The present status of the understanding of the physics of hadronic (nuclear or neutron) matter under extreme conditions and in particular at high densities is discussed in the context of quantum chromodynamics (QCD) under the headings; QCD for the dense matter (motivations, characteristics of QCD, many-body problem with QCD), and, the quark matter (non-interacting quarks, quarks in the bag, quarks on the strings, perturbative QCD).
