Description
The results of examinations of the metabolism of exogenous iodated thyrotropic hormone (TSH) of the hypophysis in the organism of irradiated animals, of the dynamics of immunoreative endogenous TSH in blood plasma and in the hypophysis, of disturbances in the hormone excreting activity of the thyroid and of the state of binding activity of the receptive apparatus of thyreocytes are summed up. The presented results illustrate the conceptions on the mechanism of functional disintegration of the components in the system hypophysis-thyroid under acute radiation sickness. (author)
