Removal of impurity ions from a plasma during Alfven-wave absorption
Description
Experiments in the R-0 stellarator show that the radial transport of impurities can be effectively modified during Alfven-wave heating. The concentration of impurity ions decreases when the frequency of the rf field is equal to the cyclotron frequency of these ions
