Investigation of the process of electrophoretic chromium carbide coating sintering

  • 1. AN Ukrainskoj SSR, Kiev. Inst. Problem Materialovedeniya

Description

Presented are results of study on coating microstructure produced by sintering in vacuum of electrophoretic deposit mixture of chromium carbide and nickel-phosphorus alloys with phosphorus amount of 1-3 mas. %. It is possible to produce dense chromium carbide coatings on steel 120-150 μm thick substrate due to phosphorus introduction into electrophoretic deposit. The coating sintering temperature must not exceed 1250 deg C because of intensive steel dissolving by liquid phase, formed in the volume of electrophoretic deposit
