An improvement of Coulomb corrections in the phase shift analysis of elastic π+--16O scattering and predictions of cross sections for π--16O scattering at low energies

Description
The large amount of data available in the pion-nucleus scattering, e.g. in the π-16O system has encouraged investigations performing a phase shift analysis for this system. Moreover the good agreement of the calculations can be viewed as a justification of the model used for the hadronic interaction. Therefore it seems worthwhile to study the electromagnetic effects, especially the interference of strong and electromagnetic interaction within the Coulomb distorted strong amplitude in more detail. As a consequence this will lead to more information in π--16O scattering, deduced from measured π+-16O data. (orig.)
