Structures of possible highly protonated methane cations
- 1. Instituto de Ciencias Físicas, National Autonomous University of Mexico, Cuernavaca, Morelos, México, C.P. 62210 (Mexico)
Description
From photoionization experiments of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons we are detected de formation of ions with masses 17 and 18, unambiguous atomic composition was possible by isotopic analysis of natural abundances. On basis of quantum chemical computations at high level of theory we propose the possible structures of the atomic system C:6H in their D0 state. Frequency analysis was performed to identify the stable structures.
