The Cretaceous is more than a geologic age in which dominated the dinosaurs and in The Moon Formation, one of the biggest generating rocks of hydrocarbons was gestated in the world. Today, one of the most ambitious exploration projects represents in Colombia, with which is looked for to check the existence of hydrocarbons deposits to a bigger depth in the area of the Cira-infantas, the field that marked the beginning of the oil history of the country. This field that initially counted with some proven reserves of 800 million barrels stored in rocks of the Tertiary, it is the biggest overdraft at the beginning of the X X century in Colombia and classified by the experts as one of the most important discoveries in the world
