The commerical use of ion exchange resins to recover uranium evolved in the decade following 1950 when significant efforts were made to recover this vital element economically and efficiently from low grade ores. Since most uranium recovery projects are concerned with recovery of the anionic complexes of uranium using anion exchange resins, this discussion is restricted solely to the family of anion resins. The laboratory experiments described here should form the basis for a program which will enable the chemist or process metallurgist to obtain sufficient information to enable him to make a reasonable and informed choice of ion exchange resins for his specific use in uranium recovery
