Regulatory study of radioactive waste management on operation of NPP 1000 MWe

Regulation of radioactive waste management is the important aspects of the operation of nuclear power plant (NPP). Study about radioactive waste management on operation of NPP 1000 MWe has been done based on regulatory demands to improve the completeness of regulation and ensuring the safety in anticipation of the first nuclear power plant in Indonesia This study has scope that examines aspects of waste management and control of discharges in the operation of nuclear power plant and aims to determine the waste management program and control of discharges. The method used from literature, discussion and reference to guidance of IAEA and other country. From the methodology obtained that the radioactive waste management and control of discharges will depend on the type of reactor, feature design and operating procedure and practices. It was concluded that considered on waste management in the operation of nuclear power plant are the radioactive waste management and discharges release to environment. (author)
