Kinetics of electron transfer between V4 and V5 in heteropolyanions
Description
The kinetics and equilibrium of the electron transfer reaction between V4 and V5 in heteropolyanions (HPA) of series 12: PMsub(12-n)Vsub(n) (M=Mo6, W6) and dissociation reaction of PMo10V4V5O406- anion with the formation of VO2+ are studied. The reaction kinetics was studied in an aqueous solution, using the method of stopped jet at 25 deg in the N2 atmosphere. The reaction rate increases with the ionic strength, as the pH decreases. The electron transfer is shown to proceed approximately 100 times slower than the VO2+ intercalation into the PMo10V5O398 vacancy
