Chemical effects of the Lγ1/Lβ1 X-ray intensity ratios in chemical state in molybdenum and niobium compounds
- 1. Tohoku Univ., Sendai (Japan)
Description
The L X-ray intensity ratios were measured in various molybdenum and niobium compounds using either 3 MeV proton beam or 11 keV electron beam as an excitation source. The Lγ1/Lβ1 intensity ratios were affected by the chemical states of molybdenum and niobium in the target compounds. The Lβ1 line results from the transition between inner shells, while the Lγ1 line arises from the transition, (LIINIV), where NIV corresponds to a valence shell. In order to explain these features, the relation between the Lγ1/Lβ1 intensity ratio and the electron density in the NIV shell was examined. The electron densities of the target compounds were calculated by an ab initio MO calculation method
