Risk analysis for the dumping of radioactive waste in deep seas
Description
The occurrence of and methods used for dumping radioactive wastes in the sea are outlined. International control is briefly mentioned, particularly that imposed by the London Dumping Convention (LDC) and the OECD Council. Various risk analyses for dumping are then discussed, including those contained in publications from the IAEA, LDC and NEA/OECD. It will be endeavoured to base future radiological analyses less on the general IAEA principles and more on distribution and exposure models which are area-specific. (C.F.)
