Design study on the demountable superconducting helical coil

  • 1. Kyoto Univ. (Japan). Plasma Physics Laboratory

Description

It is necessary to use continuous helical coil to produce heliotron type magnetic field with large rotational transform and shear. Therefore we adopted a continuous superconducting helical coil in a next generation device Heliotron ES. In order to make the fabrication and maintenance easier, demountable structure of the helical coil is required. In this presentation, we show the recent result of the design study of the demountable superconducting helical coil
