Solitons and numerical experiments
Description
A review of the present status of numerical experiments in soliton theory is given. Properties of one-, two- and three-dimensional solitons and soliton-like objects are discussed. Special attention is paid to the results obtained by computerized simulations. A brief outline of calculational methods employed is presented. The results obtained by other specialists on the interaction of two-dimensional solitons, on their bound-state formation, on pulsons, resonances, etc. are under discussion. A short list of possible physical applications of these and other results is presented in conclusion
