Description

This short article provides a brief description of the development of a salt tolerant variety of barley. This salt tolerant barley, Golden Promise, is a mutation of another barley, Maythorpe. Golden Promise was developed by irradiating the seeds of Maythorpe. It has good malting and yield characteristics and will grow in soils containing high levels of sodium
