Deposition of crystalline boron thick layers from gas phase
Description
Properties of boron obtained by its trichloride reduction in hydrogen were studied with the help of electron microscopy, X-ray spectroscopy, spectroscopy and metallography methods. It was shown that in the 1080...12500C temperature range layers of high-dense crystalline boron of tetragonal modification are deposited. Twins are the main type of structural defects in boron. The average coefficient of boron thermal expansion is 8.5 10-6degr.-1 and anisotropy degree is 0,01. 7 refs.; 3 figs. (author)
