Recent developments in the theory of large transverse momentum processes

Description
The new Chicago-Princeton proton target data at FNAL appear to rule out, that basic large p(trans) mechansim could be related to elementary quark-quark scattering. The evidence for this is briefly reviewed and a comparison with the predictions of the constituent interchange model is presented. (BJ)
Abstract (German)
Die Ergebnisse mit dem neuen Chicago-Princeton Protonentarget am FNAL deuten darauf hin, dass sich der Mechanismus fuer grossen transversalen Impulstransfer nicht zur elementaren Quark-Quark-Streuung in Beziehung setzen laesst. Die Evidenz dafuer wird erlaeutert und im Vergleich mit den Vorhersagen des 'constituent interchange models' vorgelegt. (BJ)Additional details
