Contribution of Fourier analysis of the light curves of eclipsing variables

Creators

Description

The author evaluates analytically the weights needed to express the moments Asub(2m) of the light curves - which constitute the basic quantities from which all elements of the respective eclipsing system can subsequently be evaluated as weighted means of the coefficients of an empirical Fourier cosine series representing the observed light curve. It is shown that the weight coefficients defining even moments (A0, A2, A4, A6, ...) are expressible in a closed form in terms of simple trigonometric functions. (Auth.)
