Description
Radiation-chemical stability of 17 Pt(4) and Pt(2) compounds of the A2PtX2Y2Z2 composition where A=NH4, K; X, Y, Z = Cl, Br, I, NO2, CN, CNS, 1/2C2O4 was studied. The irradiation was conducted using the 60Co plant with the dose rate of 2 and 20 Mrad/h and by electrons with the energy of 5.5 MeV at the sample temperature 25 and 6O-150 deg respectively. The processes taking place at the irradiation of complexes were investigated by infrared and ultraviolet spectroscopy, X-ray phase analysis and mass spectroscopy. It is established that A2PtX4(OH)2 (where X=Cl, 1/2C2O4), K2PtY4 (where Y--CN, I) and K2Pt(C2O4)2 are decomposed to metallic platinum under the action of ionizing radiation. At the doses higher than 9000 Mrad A2PtX4(OH)2 transforms into A2PtX6 where X=Cl. It is shown that radiation-chemical properties of the Pt complexes are connected with theip structure and the inner sphere composition. While irradiating the majority of complexes the reduction does not take place even at elevated temperature. Hydroxo group introduction into the inner sphere of complexes does not cause the decrease of radiation-chemical stability of complexes. The joint presence of hydroxo and iodo groups leads to the significant increase of the complex stability
