Process for finding the contents of a fuel rod
Description
To distinguish dosed fuel pellets (Gd2O3) from those made of pure UO2 in fuel rods, the differences in conductivity between pure and dosed material are evaluated using the eddy current measuring process. The impedance of a test coil surrounding the fuel rod is measured, where the frequency of the AC voltage feeding this test coil is made so low that the differences in conductivity of the fuel pellets due to different dosing can be measured inside the tube. Zur Unterscheidung dotierter Brennstofftabletten (Gd2O3) von solchen aus reinem UO2 in Brennstaeben werden die Leitfaehigkeitsunterschiede zwischen reinem und dotiertem Material mit Hilfe des Wirbelstrom-Messverfahrens ausgewertet. Hierzu wird die Impedanz einer den Brennstab umschliessenden Pruefspule gemessen, wobei die Frequenz der diese Pruefspule speisenden Wechselspannung so niedrig gewaehlt wird, dass die auf unterschiedlicher Dotierung beruhenden Leitfaehigkeitsunterschiede der Brennstofftabletten innerhalb des Rohres messbar sind.
