The EMC effect, overlapping bags and the nuclear shell model
Description
It is shown by means of a very simple model that the hypothesis that the nucleon bag radius is larger in nuclei than in free space, in order to explain the valence-quark contribution to the EMC effect, may be in conflict with the well-established nuclear shell model for bag radii in nuclei larger than 0.9 fm. Mostra-se por meio de um modelo muito simples que a hipotese que o raio da sacola do nucleon e maior em nucleos do que no espaco livre, a fim de explicar a contribuicao do quark de valencia ao efeito EMC, pode estar em conflito com o bem estabelecido modelo de camada nuclear para raios de sacola em nucleos maiores do que 0.9 fm.
