Weak-field approximations and equations of motion in general relativity

Description

Before considering approximation methods I shall discuss the concept of an isolated system since a discussion of approximation methods is meaningful only if one knows what is to be approximated. Then Einstein's equation will be replaced by a reduced field equation susceptible to successive approximations, and a local equation of motion. This is followed by an outline of one version of a 'fast' or Poincare-invariant approximation method, and by one of a 'slow' or quasistationary approximation method. (orig.)

Abstract (German)

(orig.)
