Assays for thrombopoietin

Description
Recent information supports the contention that platelet production is controlled by a thrombocytopoiesis-stimulating factor (TSF of thrombopoietin) much in the same manner as erythropoiesis is controlled by erythropoietin. The recent developments in platelet counting and sizing, isotopic incorporation, megakaryocytopoiesis and immunoassays of thrombopoietin are summerized on basis of 52 original papers and reviews.
