Variation of specific surface area with particle size

Description
Calculations have been made of the specific surface area of particles that are hollow shells (cenospheres) and porous particles, and the results presented graphically. For both types of particles it is shown that for particles over 2 μm the value of the specific surface area is almost independent of particle size. The relevance of the calculations to interpretation of sampling data from power plants is briefly discussed
