Surface polariton propagation along an interface between two metallized surfaces

Description

Surface polaritons which propagate along an interface between two metallized surfaces are studied. The expressions for the dispersion relation, Poynting vector, energy density, energy velocity and the damping function are derived by electromagnetic theory. All these quantities are found to be frequency dependent and size dependent. Results are illustrated by a metal-vacuum-GaP-metal system. (author)
