Statistical parameter estimation of a gamma ray tomographic scanner for quality assurance
- 1. Defence Lab., Jodhpur (India)
Description
Statistical parameters have been evolved and established for periodic system monitoring of a first generation translate/rotate gamma ray tomographic scanner system. The paper discusses the details of methodologies adopted and results obtained there on. The sensitivity of statistical parameters like mean, fractional error and contrast factor towards any variation in detector- electronics and collimator part of scanner system and normalised root mean squared distance measurement 'd' for any variation in movements of the mechanical gantry of the scanner system has been found. These parameters have a great potential to be used as investigating tools in quality assurance checks on any tomographic imaging system. (author)
