Description

In order to identify space heavy ions hitting loaded-seeds, a solid-state nuclear track detector (SSNTD) CR-39 was used as a part of a 'sandwich' detecting system. Through measurement of residual range R and etched rate VT of the ion in CR-39. a slope (dR/dVT-1) was acquired. For this reason, calibration experiments of CR-39 for C, Si and Fe ions were respectively done at HIRFL in IMP. China and at HIMAC in NIRS. Japan. Based on fitted result of a mathematical model, a fitted formula Z3.03=39655.5+1.55(dR/dVT-1) and a fitted curve were obtained. (authors)
