Description

Suppression of absorbability and bactericidal activity of peritoneal macrophages which persisted during the whole period of the study (44 days) was noted after total γ-irradiation of C57B1/6 mice in the dose of 0.5 Gy. Decrease of phagocyte effector function was accompanied by increase of lymphocytes proliferation in the spleen and its decrease in the thymus. Disturbance of functional activity of macrophages and lymphocytes in the irradiated animals resulted in changes of mono- and lymphokines production. Increase of tumor necrosis factor level and decrease of interleukin-1 and γ-interferon (IFN) was noted. Complex use of ridostin (ds RNA Saccharomyces cerevisia) with α-IFN or enterosorbent (polymethylsiloxane) allowed to normalize the quantity and quality of lymphocytes as well as production of signal mediators, which determine cell immunity. Due to this fact the authors could correct acquired immune deficiency of phagocytes effector functions
