Decommissioning and dismantling of the Greifswald nuclear power plants
Description
The tasks of decommissioning, partial dismantling and dismantling are to be advanced as much as possible - parallely to operation after shutdown - in order to reduce disassembly time and usefully employ available personnel. The tasks are carried out in such a way that they do not interfere with operation of the residual plant. Safety objectives are observed and have to be continuously redefined in accordance with the progress of the work. After discharge of fuel elements, the nuclear-fuel-specific safety objectives (criticality, afterheat) are inapplicable so that in the long term only radiation protection and conventional safety aspects will have to be taken into account. Abstract (German)
Die Aufgaben der Stillegung, des Teilabbaus und des Abbaus sollen -parallel zum jetzt noch notwendigen Nachbetrieb - moeglichst weit vorgezogen werden, um die Demontagezeit zu reduzieren und das vorhandene Personal sinnvoll einsetzen zu koennen. Die Aufgaben werden so durchgefuehrt, dass sie frei sind von Rueckwirkungen auf die Restanlage. Die Schutzziele werden hierbei eingehalten, sie sind in Abhaengigkeit vom Fortschritt der Arbeiten jeweils neu festzulegen. Nach dem Entladen der Brennelemente entfallen die kernbrennstoffspezifischen Schutzziele (Kritikalitaet, Nachwaerme), so dass langfristig nur noch Strahlenschutz- und konventionelle Schutzaspekte zu beachten sind.
