Development of a high current 250 kV photocathode dc gun

  • 1. Japan Atomic Energy Agency, Sector of Nuclear Science Research, Quantum Beam Science Center, Kizugawa, Kyoto (Japan)

Description

We have developed a high current photocathode dc gun at JAEA for the next generation light sources such as an energy recovery linac and high-repetition rate X-ray free electron laser. The gun is equipped with a multialkali photocathode preparation system. Quantum efficiency of 0.37% at 532 nm was obtained for a Cs3Sb photocathode. The gun was high voltage conditioned up to 230 kV with a cathode electrode. Beam generation test from the multialkali photocathode will be performed by the end of FY2015. (author)
