Structure and superconductivity of (Bi,Pb,S)-1212 compound
Creators
Description
A series of single (Bi,Pb,S)O layered superconductors (Bi1-2xPbxSx)Sr2(Ca0.7Nd0.3)Cu2Oz have been synthesised. The microstructures of (Bi,Pb,S)-1212 show pearly pellet grains. The crystal structures confirmed by X-ray diffraction patterns are single 1212 phase with orthorhombic structures. The optimum composition is (Bi0.6Pb0.2S0.2)Sr2(Ca0.7Nd0.3)Cu2Oz with Tc 80 K and the lattice parameters: a=3.828 Angst, b=3.795 Angst, c=12.02 Angst. This new series of superconductor have a lower processing temperature and a shorter c-axis than the Bi-2212 phase
