Description
Environmental survey and assessment of natural radioactivity were carried out for a certain area of Jiangsu province. The results show that the background level of natural γ-external exposure absorbed dose rate in this survey area is 86 nGy/h, higher than the background level of Jiangsu province and the average level of China; radon concentration in air approaches to the background level of Jiangsu province and the average level of China. γ-external exposure absorbed dose rate in volcanic rock area is higher than that of the other lithology area. γ-external exposure absorbed dose rate and radon concentration in air, and nuclide content in soils are high in the location engaged in uranium geological activity. The background level of public personal absorbed dose per year in this survey area is 1.33 mSv and the background level of public personal absorbed dose per year in this decommissioning location of uranium geological activity is 9.483 mSv.
