Ignalina NPP region patient dose measurements in diagnostic radiology

Description

The effective dose equivalent caused by diagnostic x-ray examinations in Ignalina NPP region has been estimated. The estimated dose per capita in 1992 was 0,48mSv, for thyroid - 0,02 mSv. X-ray examination of the abdomen, barium meal, barium enema and biligraphy made a most significant contribution to the collective population dose. Dose to the thyroid was mostly dependent on head, cervical spine x-ray examinations and man chest photofluorography. (author). 9 refs., 3 tabs
