Construction and analysis of a 1/6th-scale concrete containment model
Description
This paper discusses the features and preliminary analysis of a 1/6th-scale reinforced concrete containment model, which is being constructed at Sandia National Laboratories (SNL) in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The model LWR containment building was designed and is being built to the ASME code by United Engineers and Constructors Inc. The containment model will be tested to failure to determine its behavior to static overpressurization. The results from testing the heavily instrumented containment will be used to assess the capability of analytical methods
