Description

The Magnetic Measurements Laboratory (MML) has large experience in magnetic measurement of curved magnets on the reference trajectory: polar coordinates inside and cartesian coordinates outside. In April-May 1997 the MML of LNS at Saclay has carried out field mapping of two dipoles of the High Energy line of SPIRAL. Results of the measurements performed in the medium plane are reported. Each magnet was measured for five current intensities, from 150 to 310 A, these last intensity corresponding to the nominal induction 1.6 T. These magnets will be installed on the SPIRAL facility during the 1997 Summer. A similar process will be used with the dipoles of the Mean Energy beam line of SPIRAL. These measurements are expected to be done by the end of 1997 and the beginning of 1998. However, the design of the guide-rails will be slightly different: the change of probe trajectories will be automatic and the mode of operation simplified. (author)
