H0547-14: X-ray flux from a weak gamma-ray burst
Creators
- 1. University of Pennsylvania
Description
On 1978 March 17, the HEAO A-1 Sky Survey experiment detected an intense X-ray transient, H0547-14, on a single 10 s observation. H0547-14 showed a factor > or =200 increase in flux over background, no quiescent emission down to approx.0.5 Uhuru flux units (either in the days immediately before and after the event or six months earlier), a hard spectrum, and a factor 10 flux rise in approx.5 s
