Interaction of chromium with tantalum and vanadium
Description
The methods of physico-chemical analysis have been used to plot for the first time the isothermal cross section of the chromium-vanadium-tantalum ternary system at 1000 deg. The influence of vanadium and tantalum additions on the ERKh grade chromium physico-chemical properties has been studied. It has been found that introducing tantalum and vanadium additions into the ERKh grade chromium with the use of arc melting one can improve its plastic characteristics and considerably slow down the embrittlement occurring in the material
