Construction and operation of a filling station for high-level radioactive liquid wastes. Short description of the HAWA filling station
Description
To manage high-level radioactive liquid wastes it is planned to transport them to the existing Pamela vitrification plant at Dessel/Belgium for solidification. For filling the high-level radioactive liquid wastes, a filling station (HAWA) will be built on the site of the WAK. The essential aspects of the construction and operation of this filling station HAWA are represented. Its location, construction and operation are described. Furthermore, safety measures and environmental impacts of the filling station - both during normal operation and in the event of accidents - are dealt with in detail. Within the framework of the licencing procedure an environmental compatibility study was performed, the results of which are summarized in a separate chapter. (orig./HP)

Zur Entsorgung der hochradioaktiven Abfaelloesung ist geplant, diese zur bestehenden Verglasungsanlage Pamela nach Dessel/Belgien zu transportieren und dort zu verfestigen. Fuer die Abfuellung der hochradioaktiven Abfalloesung ist auf dem Gelaende der WAK eine Abfuellstation (kurz HAWA) zu erricht. Die wesentlichen Aspekte fuer die Errichtung und den Betrieb dieser Abfuellstation HAWA wird dargestellt. Standort, Errichtung und der Betrieb werden beschrieben. Ausserdem wird auf die Sicherheitsvorkehrungen und die Auswirkungen der Abfuellstation auf die Umgebung - sowohl bei bestimmungsgemaessen Betrieb als auch bei Stoerfaellen - ausfuehrlich eingegangen. Im Rahmen des Genehmigungsverfahrens wurde eine Umweltvertraeglichkeitsuntersuchung durchgefuehrt, deren Ergebnisse in einem eigenen Kapital zusammenfassend dargestellt sind.
