Description
PISC III represents the third and final phase of a major international programme to assess the effectiveness and reliability of non destructive examination procedures for inspecting pressure components, particularly vessels and piping in the light water reactors. This phase focuses on: expertise with real defects and evaluation of techniques applied to full scale pressure vessels, safe-ends, stainless steel piping welds, steam generator tubes. This third phase is also intended as a validation of the previous phase, PISC II. Evaluation of the PISC III programme results is expected to last until the end of 1992, with final reports ready in mid-1993. (author)
