Influence of Ba ion implantation on emissive properties of Pd, Mo and PdBa

Description
A comparative study is made into emissive properties of Mo, Pd and Pd-Ba (1.5% Ba) implanted with 1 keV Ba+ ions of a 4 x 1016 ion cm-2 dose. It is established that ion implantation increases an electron emission coefficient almost threefold. The influence of annealing at 1100 K in vacuum, H2 and H2 with O2 addition on Pd-Ba emissive properties is also studied. The annealing in hydrogen environment is shown to decrease work functions and to increase the value of electron emission coefficient due to intense removal of impurity atoms
Abstract (Russian)
Проведено сравнительное исследование эмиссионных свойств Mo, Pd и Pd-Ba (1.5% Ba), имплантированных ионами Ba+ с энергией 1 кэВ дозой 4 х 1016 ион см-2. Установлено, что коэффициент электронной эмиссии после ионной имплантации увеличивается почти в 3 раза. Изучено также влияние отжига при 1100 К в вакууме, Н2 и Н2 с добавкой О2 на эмиссионные свойства Pd-Ba. Показано, что отжиг в среде водорода уменьшает работу выхода и увеличивает значение коэффициента электронной эмиссии за счет интенсивного удаления примесных атомовAdditional details
