Manufacturing method for nuclear fuel sintering product
Description
In a method of manufacturing a nuclear fuel sintering product having an oxygen/uranium ratio (O/U) controlled to 1.98 to 2.02, a powder mixture comprising 40 to 1% by weight of a powder undergoing thermal hysteresis of higher than 800degC and 60 to 100% by weight of a powder undergoing thermal hysteresis of lower than 800degC is used as U3O8 powders. Then, sintering is conducted in an oxidative atmosphere containing 10 to 200ppm of air or oxygen and nitrogen and/or argon gas at a heating temperature of 800 to 1400degC. With such procedures, the sintering density and pore distribution of the nuclear fuel sintering product can be controlled to a predetermined value. (T.M.)
