Bulk charging of polymers under low-energy electron irradiation

  • 1. Moskovskij Inst. Ehlektroniki i Matematiki, Moscow (Russian Federation)

Description

Consideration is given to results of experimental study of bulk charging of polymers (PS, PETF, PE, PTFE, PP, polyimide and other) by 40 and 60 keV electron beams at 3 and 30 nA/cm2 current density, when electron path is less, than polymer film thickness. The method of Faraday cup was used to study processes of charge accumulation. It was established that the current of back electrode under long-term irradiation achieved some quasistationary value, depending sufficiently on the thickness of locking layer. 13 refs.; 5 figs
