Study of neutron multiplication in accelerator-driven reactor systems

Description
The basic features of the sub-critical unit of 80 MW power, which is close to a prototype of the accelerator driven system EAP-80, are investigated. The target and the coolant of the sub-critical reactor are made of molten eutectic Pb-Bi alloy. The uranium-plutonium MOX fuel is used as the reactor fuel. The new computer code package CASCADE/INPE is elaborated to study the basic parameters of this sub-critical accelerator driven system. All calculations are performed for the 600 MeV proton beam interacting with the Pb-Bi target. The beam current is equal to 3.0 mA. The results of calculation of the effective criticality factor for the different design of the reactor core (120 and 132 assemblies) are presented. The averaged neutron spectrum for 120 assemblies is calculated. The Doppler coefficient is obtained for homogeneous and heterogeneous assemblies

Изучаются основные параметры подкритического блока мощностью 80 МВт, который является прототипом электроядерной системы ЕАР-80. Мишень и теплоноситель подкритического реактора выполнены из эвтектического расплава Pb-Bi. В качестве реакторного топлива используется уран-плутониевое МОХ-топливо. Для изучения характеристик электроядерной системы разработан новый программный пакет CASCADE/INPE. Все расчеты выполнены для протонного пучка с энергией 600 МэВ и током 3 мА при его взаимодействии с Pb-Bi-мишенью. Представлены результаты расчета эффективного коэффициента критичности для различной конструкции активной зоны (120 или 132 элемента). Получен усредненный спектр нейтронов для случая активной зоны со 120 элементами. Вычислен коэффициент Доплера для гомогенных и гетерогенных сборокAdditional details
