Description
This cyclotron is a machine in which the cryogenic principal coils are circular, surrounding saturated soft steel cylindrical poles. A machine of this type is at the center of the preproject of the new accelerator set of the Orsay IPN. The machine originality sets in: - the suppression of the internal ion source, two types of injection are planned; - the light ions acceleration; - the variability in desired energy; - the adjustment of the field range is relatively low; - a radioelectric frequency band covered, adjusted relatively high. The design method elaborated for the electromagnet is exposed, together with the design aspects of the RF and the injection systems

Ce cyclotron est une machine ou les bobinages principaux cryogeniques sont circulaires, entourant des poles cylindriques d'acier doux sature. C'est une machine de ce type qui est au centre de l'avant-projet du nouvel ensemble accelerateur de l'IPN d'Orsay. L'originalite de cette machine reside dans: - l'elimination de la source d'ions interne; 2 types d'injection y sont prevus; - l'acceleration des ions legers; - la variabilite en energie desiree; - le calage de la plage de champ est relativement bas; - une bande de frequences radioelectriques couverte calee assez haut. La methode conceptuelle elaboree pour l'electro-aimant est exposee ainsi que les aspects conceptuels du systeme radiofrequence et de l'injectionAdditional details
