Excitation of Alfven Waves in Mirror Plasmas with a Strong Temperature Anisotropy

Description
In the GAMMA 10 tandem mirror, fAlfven ion cyclotron modes are spontaneously excited due to the strong temperature anisotropy. The plasma parameters needed for the excitation are explained by the theoretical prediction with the effective mirror ratio. It is suggested that the power of ICRF waves applied externally branches off spontaneously excited Alfven eigenmodes directly
