Description
International programmes for decommissioning and securing Radioisotope Thermoelectric Generators (RTGs) in Russia in 2008. • The scope of problems and inventory of existing 705 RTGs in Russia. • Description of ongoing projects for securing RTGs carried out by Russia, Norway and the United States in Northwest, North, Far-East areas of Russia, the Baltic Sea and Antarctica. • Creation of an international coordination group for RTGs. • Conclusions for enhancement of international efforts in this area.
