A possible heating mechanism at down-shifted cyclotron frequency in the CT-6B Tokamak

Description

A parametric decay process is proposed to explain the electron cyclotron wave heating at down shifted cyclotron frequency observed in the CT-6B tokamak. When the wave is perpendicularly launched from the top, X mode decays into a static electron plasma wave and ion acoustic wave before the cut-off X mode. The decay products may propagate to the center and transfer their energy into plasma
