Test of charge symmetry in π-d- and π+d- elastic scattering at energy Tπ 417 MeV

Description
The charge asymmetry parameter for the differential cross sections of π- and π+d-elastic scattering A(Tπ, Θ*) has been measured at the pion channel of PNPI synchrocyclotron at energy Tπ = 417 MeV. For scattering angles Θ = 106, 122, 137, and 154 deg the values A(Tπ, Θ) = -0.017 ± 0.046, 0.024 ± 0.035, 0.061 ± 0.029, 0.062 ± 0.024 have been measured. A number of scintillation spectrometers and helium-cooling liquid deuterium target have been constructed for this experiment. Radiation corrections given by Borie's method have been calculated and taken into account. 14 refs., 6 figs., 3 tabs
